One of the questions we’re often asked by travel advisers is how we stay so closely connected to the destinations we sell.
The answer is simple: we’re constantly there.
At All Nordics, our team spends a significant amount of time travelling throughout the Nordic region, visiting suppliers, experiencing properties firsthand, and maintaining relationships with the people behind the experiences we recommend. While photos, brochures and virtual meetings are useful, nothing compares to being on the ground.
Recently, we had the opportunity to combine a supplier visit with hosting one of our travel adviser partners, creating a wonderful opportunity to experience Villa Äng together while showcasing the beauty of Swedish Lapland through local eyes.
A recent visit to Villa Äng in Swedish Lapland was a perfect example of why these supplier visits remain such an important part of our work.
Seeing a Property Beyond the Brochure
Villa Äng is one of Swedish Lapland’s newest luxury accommodation options, located on the banks of the beautiful Lule River.

Several members of the All Nordics team had previously visited the property while it was still under construction, making this our first opportunity to experience the finished villa and understand how it feels as a guest experience.
Owners Kent and Britta, together with Jenny, welcomed us warmly and shared the story behind the property. We spent time learning more about the villa’s positioning, guest profile and future plans, all valuable insights that help us better advise our travel partners and their clients.
These conversations often reveal details that simply don’t appear on a website. Understanding the personalities behind a property, their vision and their approach to hospitality helps us match the right clients to the right experiences.
A Luxury Villa That Feels Like Home
What immediately stood out about Villa Äng was its atmosphere.
The villa offers four guest rooms and one master suite, with each room inspired by plants found in Swedish meadows, fitting for a property whose name translates to “meadow” in Swedish.
Rather than feeling like a traditional luxury hotel, Villa Äng feels more like a beautifully designed private home. The interiors combine Scandinavian design with local decorative touches, creating a warm and welcoming environment that encourages guests to slow down and settle in.

It’s the type of property that appeals to travellers looking for authenticity and personal connection alongside comfort and luxury.
As luxury travel continues to evolve, we’re seeing growing demand for exactly this type of experience.
Conversations That Matter
This visit was about more than simply seeing a property.
We were joined by one of our valued travel advisor partners from Fora, who was visiting Swedish Lapland as part of her own destination research. Having the opportunity to experience Villa Äng together allowed us not only to showcase one of our newest luxury products, but also to share the beauty, atmosphere and unique character of the region firsthand.
At All Nordics, we believe that some of the most valuable partnerships are built through shared experiences. Spending time together in the destinations we sell creates a deeper understanding of the product, the people behind it and the stories that make a place memorable.
Over lunch, we discussed Villa Äng itself, the experiences it can deliver, the types of travellers it attracts, and some broader observations about the North American luxury travel market. We also exchanged ideas about emerging travel trends, what clients are increasingly seeking from Nordic journeys and how destination specialists and travel advisers can work together to create exceptional experiences.

These conversations are incredibly valuable. They help us understand changing client expectations, identify emerging trends and ensure we continue to provide the knowledge and support our partners need when selling Nordic destinations.
One of the greatest strengths of the Nordic region is the diversity of experiences available, and understanding how those experiences resonate with different traveller profiles is key to creating successful itineraries.
Lunch with a View
Britta kindly prepared lunch for us, serving homemade quiches, including both vegetarian and vegan options, alongside fresh salads and a fruit dessert.
The meal was simple, thoughtful and perfectly suited to the setting. In many ways, it reflected the hospitality that guests can expect when staying at Villa Äng: warm, personal and genuinely welcoming.
The weather was kind to us too. We were fortunate to enjoy a sunny afternoon overlooking the Lule River, a view that quickly reminded us why this area is so special.
When we arrived, the river was completely still, reflecting the surrounding landscape like a mirror. Later, the wind picked up slightly, changing the mood of the scenery entirely. A few enthusiastic Lapland mosquitoes also made an appearance, reminding us that summer in the Arctic comes with its own unique characteristics.
Why Being There Matters
One of the biggest takeaways from the visit was seeing how dramatically different Swedish Lapland feels in summer compared to winter.
Many travellers know the region for its snow-covered forests, frozen rivers and Northern Lights. During summer, however, the landscape transforms completely. The rivers flow freely, the forests are lush and green, and the midnight sun creates endless hours of daylight.
Looking out across the Lule River, it was hard to imagine the same scene covered in snow and ice just a few months earlier. Experiencing these seasonal differences firsthand gives us a much deeper understanding of how a destination changes throughout the year.
These visits help us advise our partners more effectively. We gain practical insights into everything from mosquito season and weather conditions to the best viewpoints, photography opportunities and sunset experiences. They also allow us to understand how suppliers adapt their offering between seasons and what clients can realistically expect at different times of year.
These details may seem small, but they can make a significant difference when setting expectations and creating memorable journeys for clients.
The Value of Strong Supplier Relationships
At All Nordics, we view supplier visits as much more than product inspections.
They are opportunities to strengthen relationships, learn directly from the people delivering experiences on the ground, and stay informed about developments across the region.
The stronger our relationships with suppliers, the better we can support our travel partners. The more time we spend experiencing destinations ourselves, the more confidently we can recommend them.
Our afternoon at Villa Äng was a perfect reminder of this.
By continuing to invest time in visiting properties, meeting owners and experiencing destinations throughout the year, we ensure that the advice we provide is based on genuine, up-to-date knowledge rather than second-hand information.
And ultimately, that’s what helps our partners create exceptional Nordic journeys for their clients.
